Leadership & Management

• Provide executive management of an FQHC/NY State Department of Health Article 28 Facility and of its staff, programs, and operations

• Seek new opportunities for service growth in both the public and private sectors, strategic alliances and business opportunities to support the mission and vision of the organization

• Lead and manage the organization’s programs and operations in a fast-changing regulatory and government funding environment

• Establish productive and supportive relationships that engage the clients of CFH, in order to consistently enhance their client-centered philosophy

• Show solid commitment to the professional development of staff, and a successful track record of recruiting and retaining a diverse team

• Ensure the provision of high quality services in compliance with funding source requirements

Board Relations

• Collaborate with the Board in an active strategic planning effort and oversee the implementation of the organization's strategic goals while ensuring that the budget, staff, and priorities are aligned with the CFH mission

• Offer strategic guidance and advance the board’s strategic planning efforts, while understanding diverse points of view to build a constructive consensus

• Cultivate a strong and transparent working relationship with the Board and ensure open communication about the measurement of financial, programmatic, and impact performance against stated milestones and goals to be developed in a strategic plan

• In partnership with the Board chair and nominating committee, help build a diverse and inclusive Board that is highly engaged and willing to leverage and secure resources

• As the face of the organization, seek and cultivate relationships on behalf of CFH with individuals who might serve as Board or Board Committee members, become donors or otherwise promote the advancement of CFH and the people it serves

Revenue Development/Communications

• Take an active leadership role in development activities and efforts of the organization and work closely with the Board in efforts to increase revenues from foundations, individual donors and corporate funders

• Oversee the Director of Development in efforts to increase funding from private sources by aggressive outreach to current funders and new prospects while seeking to achieve fully sustainable funding from public sources

Advocacy/ Government Relations

• Inform and advocate for public policies that affect the services and resources that government provides to the CFH population

• Work with leaders within all levels of government on systemic changes relevant to the sector, including but not limited to the New York City Department of Homeless Services (DHS), Department of Health & Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), New York City Human Resource Administration (HRA), and others

• Nurture existing and new collaborative relationships with other service providers in the fields of homelessness and supportive housing, as well as with training, employment and mental health service providers

• Lead initiatives that change perceptions about people who experience homelessness in the ongoing effort to effect policy changes

Fiscal Management

• Working closely with the CFO, develop the annual budget for presentation to the Board, and develop proactive financial strategies that address an increasingly competitive and ever-changing landscape

• Prudently manage the CFH budgetary guidelines insuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of all financial accounting and reporting
