For 65 years, Rockwern Academy, formerly known as Yavneh Day School, has prided itself on providing an excellent Jewish and general academic education in a warm and nurturing environment. Rockwern strives to enable Jewish children in this community to fulfill their potential as Jews and as citizens of the world. Rockwern is a community of learners, ages 18 months through 8th grade, where students, families and teachers join together to ensure that every individual child is able to rise to challenges and soar, academically and personally. At Rockwern, we have created a culture of excellence reflected in our teachers, programs and curriculum and exemplified by our commitment to fostering a love of Jewish life and learning.

Rockwern Academy’s commitment to excellence, both in General and Judaic studies has been recognized by those outside the community. Among the 129 private schools in the Greater Cincinnati area, Rockwern has earned status as one of only five schools accredited through the Independent Schools Association of the Central States (ISACS).

This is an exciting time at Rockwern and, more broadly, in the Cincinnati Jewish community. Under the leadership of the Jewish Federation and Jewish Foundation of Cincinnati, a clear plan (Cincinnati 2020) has been developed to realize the vision of an engaged community: one that retains and attracts Jewish individuals and families and increases the region’s Jewish population. As Cincinnati’s venerable Jewish community day school for the past 65 years, Rockwern parents, students, faculty and staff will continue to play a key role in helping to make this community vision a reality.
