Organizations nationwide are increasingly using new types of benefits to
attract new talent and retain existing talent. Once unheard of benefits are
now fairly common, and are being written into contracts every day. We hope
that this section will help keep you current on this dynamic issue.
This webpage shows the recent research performed by the Council on
Foundations. Of particular interest is the 2007 Grantmakers Salary and
Benefits Report. The information in the report is based on the responses of
over 800 foundations and giving programs. In addition to an executive
summary, the report is broken down into region, and types of
foundations-community, corporate, private, and public.

The 403(b) gives nonprofit employees many of the same retirement benefits as
the 401(k) does for employees in other sectors. This article provides
information on the 403(b), and gives a comparison of the 401(k) and 403(b)
deferred income plans while highlighting some of the key differences between
the two.
